Britain and Ukraine sign “historic” agreement
London will provide constant and comprehensive support to Kyiv in the coming decade. The agreement stipulates that in case of a further Russian attack, the U.K. will promptly provide Ukraine with the necessary assistance, including modern weapons to repel ground, amphibious and air assault.
“Today is the day when the history of Europe is changing. Ukraine and the United Kingdom have signed a new and unprecedented security agreement. This is not a mere statement. This is a reality that will be established thanks to our cooperation and, in particular, the security guarantees provided by a great world power, Great Britain,” Zelenskyy noted.
Britain has become the first G7 member to sign such an agreement; London has called it historic.
The agreement will be in force until Ukraine joins NATO.
