Peskov: Russia respects Armenia’s sovereign rights, but Yerevan needs to make a choice

The dates for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Moscow have not yet been agreed upon, but there is an understanding that it will take place in the near future, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.

He also emphasized that Russia respects Armenia’s sovereign rights, but Yerevan needs to make a choice between the EU and the EAEU.

The Russian presidential press secretary noted that Armenia is a participant in the EAEU integration process, and a gradual reorientation toward other standards will not correlate with EAEU standards in various fields.

“This is what we mean when we say that it is very important to make a choice and that it is crucial for a member state of the EAEU not to contradict the rules, regulations, and principles of this integration association, which is important for all of us,” he emphasized.
