State Department condemns anti-Semitic riots in Makhachkala
The U.S. condemned the violent anti-Semitic events in
Dagestan. Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Matthew Miller made a
statement on this.
“We call on Russian authorities to publicly condemn these
violent protests, to hold those – to hold anyone involved accountable, and to
ensure the safety of Israelis and Jews in Russia,” Miller said.
To remind, many residents of Makhachkala stormed the airport
in Makhachkala on Sunday, demanding that the flight from Tel Aviv be canceled.
Several dozen people, including two police officers, incurred injuries in the
riots.
