Putin meets Assad in Kremlin
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad in the Kremlin last night, TASS writes.
“Dear President, I am very happy to see you,” Putin greeted Assad.
“We have an opportunity to talk about the entire complex of our relations; we haven’t seen each other for a long time,” the Russian president added.
Putin said he would discuss with Assad the situation in the region, which has a tendency to deteriorate; this also applies to Syria.
The last time the leaders of Russia and Syria met in the Kremlin was on March 15, 2023; their talks lasted three hours.
