Diocese leaders and bishops meet at Mother See under Catholicos’s leadership 

On Sept. 11, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, under the chairmanship of Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, a meeting of leaders of Armenian dioceses and bishops serving at the Mother See was held, the Mother See reports.

Welcoming the attendees, His Holiness happily emphasized that the preparations for the ceremony of the re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral are in the finalization stage.

Then, the chairman of the Coordinating Committee for the organization of the re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral and related events, Ambassador of the Mother See T. Arshak Archbishop Khachatryan, presenting the activities carried out by the commission.

It was noted that high-ranking clergymen from Armenia and the Diaspora, Armenians with a significant role in national life, delegates of Sister Churches and inter-church organizations, state, diplomatic, public, scientific and educational, culture and art representatives, as well as pilgrims and guests, will participate in the sacred ceremonies.

Videos were prepared and published to inform people about the ceremonies, informative posters were placed in different regions of the country, informative books, publicly available brochures and newsletters were published. An agreement has been reached for the organization of TV programs covering the re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral by mass media.

Reference was made to the technical works undertaken in order to ensure the access of religious Armenians to sacred ceremonies, within the framework of which traffic and security related issues will be regulated with public order protection authorities.

At the end of the report, the Patriarch of All Armenians gave instructions to the diocesan leaders to make more efforts to facilitate the participation of pilgrims in the sacred ceremonies.

Participating church members expressed their joy and satisfaction regarding the upcoming spiritual events.
