We Have Achieved Our Goals in Syria: Putin

Russia has achieved its goals in Syria by preventing the establishment of a terrorist enclave, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“We came to Syria 10 years ago to ensure that a terrorist enclave would not be created there, as happened in other countries, such as Afghanistan. Overall, we have achieved our goals,” Putin stated.

Putin also discussed the withdrawal of Russian bases from Syria, noting that future developments depend on the alignment of interests with the new authorities.
