Peskov on Russia-US and Iran-US talks

Moscow and Washington are making significant efforts to normalize relations that have suffered tremendous damage in previous years during the previous U.S. administration, U.S. Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in response to reporters’ questions about the potential restoration of the Strategic Offensive Reductions Treaty.

Peskov added that the next Russian-American contacts will take place at the level of the Russian Foreign Ministry, with negotiations scheduled for April 10 in Istanbul.

He also addressed the negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, noting that Moscow supports direct talks between the U.S. and Iran regarding the nuclear program and advocates for a diplomatic resolution. Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced direct negotiations with Iran, mentioning that a “high-level” meeting would occur this week, expressing hope for an agreement, as no one wants the opposite.
