Trump expresses hope for Russia-Ukraine agreement this week

U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed optimism that Ukraine and Russia might reach an agreement this week.

“Hopefully Russia and Ukraine will make a deal this week. Both will then start to do big business with the United States of America, which is thriving, and make a fortune!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin announced yesterday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided not to extend the Easter truce declared in Ukraine. The ceasefire, which began on the evening of April 19, was due to end at midnight yesterday.

“President Putin has not given any instructions to extend the Easter ceasefire,” Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated.
