Incident in Tehran: Armenian embassy officials in Iran not allowed to approach Genocide memorial

An incident occurred during an event organized on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, held outside Saint Sargis Cathedral of the Armenian Diocese in Tehran.

According to ABC media, during the wreath-laying ceremony, several participants of the event, who are also Armenian citizens, chanted “Denial is a crime,” not allowing the staff of the Armenian Embassy in Iran to approach the monument dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

The protesters stated that the official authorities in Yerevan, guided by a policy of denial and revisionism, must put an end to the pro-Turkish strategy, which seeks to divide the diaspora and interfere with the commemorative events of the Genocide anniversary.
