Why Mojtaba Khamenei won’t attend father’s funeral

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, will not attend the funeral ceremonies for his father, late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, due to security concerns. The announcement was made by Ayatollah Hakim Elahi, the representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in India.

According to Elahi, attending the funeral could pose a serious security risk in light of threats from Israel.
