The staff of the Goy Theater is protesting today outside the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport against the merger with the Gabriel Sundukyan State Academic Theatre.
As Honored Artist of Armenia Samson Stepanyan noted, we are in an alarming situation today as we see cultural centers being demolished.
“I am not sure if the government, the authorities realize this or not, or if this is just another process for them, meant to lead us to a brighter future.
If I see that this is being done for the sake of something, and if I have a conviction about this, I will tell them to close down all the theaters. If by doing this, you are strengthening our state, I will agree. If we do this by weakening our state, undermining national values and roots, then I am against it, against it and against it,” the actor told ABC media.
