Armenian president discusses situation in South Caucasus with Iranian foreign minister

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan discussed the situation in the region with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. The Iranian Embassy in Yerevan issued a statement on this.

“In a meeting with the Armenian president, our foreign minister highlighted the importance of preserving historical routes and noted that geopolitical changes cannot be accepted in view of the rapid developments in the region,” reads the statement.

The meeting was held within the framework of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

Earlier, Khachaturyan had meetings with other high-ranking officials, namely the head of the IAEA, the president of North Macedonia, the prime minister of Mongolia, the foreign minister of Finland, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees and others.
