Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke about the so-called “Zangezur corridor”, noting that in recent days, in their public statements the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders have been talking about the creation of the main link between Azerbaijan and Nakhijevan.
“Moreover, Prime Minister Pashinyan somehow stated that Armenia is categorically against the “Zangezur corridor”. The “Zangezur corridor” was never mentioned in the agreements reached between President Putin, President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan. The Statement of November 9, 2020 — which stopped the war — says that all transport and economic links should be unblocked, and that Armenia should ensure the safety of transport links between the western regions of Azerbaijan and Nakhijevan,” Lavrov said in the press conference on the outcomes of the Russian diplomacy in 2023.
