Farmers staging a protest in Brussels made bonfires in the city center, RIA Novosti’s correspondent in Brussels says.
They lit a bonfire outside the building of the European Parliament. The police blocked the entrance to the Parliament.
The situation keeps stable; the police only at times try to put out the fire.
Farmer protests have recently gained momentum in France and beyond its borders. There are strikes in Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and Germany.
The farmers’ protests are about the increase in fuel prices and the drop in incomes on account of the grain import from Ukraine and bureaucracy.
