Russian Foreign Intelligence Service: Washington is planning to start mass protests in Georgia to seize power by force

The U.S. Department of State intends to use a new instrument to interfere in the Georgian parliamentary elections, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported.

The goal is to prevent the victory of the Georgian Dream party, the agency noted. Washington is planning to start mass protests in the country to seize power by force.

In addition, the Americans have ensured “cooperation” with the leadership of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. The latter should publish a report before the election, stating that conditions are not favorable for holding fair elections in Georgia.

Earlier, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the pre-election period in Georgia goes amid unprecedented foreign interference. Parliamentary elections will be held in the country on Oct. 26.
