Buravov: Russia and Turkey continue discussions on the Syrian issue

Russia and Turkey continue their contacts regarding the Syrian issue, Andrey Buravov, Russian Consul General in Istanbul, told reporters.

The diplomat noted that negotiations on this issue have been under way for a considerable period of time between Russia and Turkey, both in bilateral formats and within the framework of the Astana process, with various agreements signed.

“All these efforts have been aimed at resolving the situation in Syria and fostering reconciliation, as well as seeking solutions to the conflict between the Syrian government and the opposition. Unfortunately, we can say that these efforts have not been successful, given the current situation. Under new conditions, we continue our contacts in both bilateral and international formats, taking into account the interests of our country. The results of these efforts will be visible and felt in the near future,” Buravov stated.
