The former vice-rector of Yerevan State Medical University
is being searched for abuse of authority, misappropriation of funds and money
laundering.
According to the Investigative Committee, the vice-rector of
the university left Armenia after his interrogation. ABC Media discovered that
the man being searched is former YSMU Vice-Rector for Financial and Economic
Affairs Karen Harutyunyan. The latter is Armen Ashotyan’s godson and close
friend. He is charged in connection with the same case.
“The testimony or one of the testimonies against him
was given by a person who used to be under arrest and was released after the
testimony. Enough said,” Armen Ashotyan’s advocate Tigran Atanesyan said this
to ABC Media.
