The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey welcomed the joint
statement issued by the Office of the Azerbaijani president and the Office of
the Armenian prime minister regarding the release of prisoners.
“We welcome the decision to take practical steps to enhance
confidence between the two countries and support the decision to continue talks
on additional steps to bolster confidence. We wish Azerbaijan and Armenia an
early conclusion of a peace treaty, which will become one of the key events in
the process of establishing lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus,”
reads the statement issued by the ministry.
To remind, yesterday, news came in about the exchange of 32
Armenian POWs held in Azerbaijan and two Azerbaijani servicemen held in
Armenia.
