Normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan discussed at Mirzoyan-Blinken meeting

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a meeting in Washington, DC, on June 27. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to regional security and stability, as well as the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.


The sides attached importance to ensuring the border demarcation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the Alma-Ata Declaration and the 1975 map, the withdrawal of troops from the border, as well as the proper addressing of the rights and security issues of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh as an important factor in establishing lasting peace in the region.
