Lukashenko: We are preparing for war to avoid it

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated that the republic must prepare for the worst-case scenarios regarding international tensions, Belta news agency reports.

"We must be ready for the worst-case scenario for us. These scenarios have been calculated and are known to us. But we cannot allow a new round of aggression. No one needs this today," the Belarusian leader noted.

According to him, the Baltic states and Poland do not possess sufficient power to fulfill their "desires," especially military ones.

"I said frankly and honestly that we are preparing for war to avoid it. We are not going to attack anyone, despite the campaign recently launched in the media by our Western ''friends'' claiming that Russia will attack the Baltic states, and possibly Poland, from the territory of Belarus and together with Belarus," Lukashenko said.
