Father kills 7 of his kids and another child in US shooting

The perpetrator of a shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, US, was the father of the family, the BBC reports. He killed his seven children as well as another child who was not related to him.

Earlier reports said that eight children aged between 1 and 14 were killed in the shooting. Two women were also injured, including the children’s mother, and are reported to be in critical condition.

Police later tracked down and killed the suspect while he was attempting to flee.

The motive for the attack remains unknown. However, family members told US media that the shooter and his wife were in the process of getting divorced.
