Czech Republic to make pet killing criminal offence
The Czech government has approved a draft law that would reclassify the killing of a pet from an administrative offence to a criminal crime.
“Deliberate killing of a pet will be changed from an administrative offence into a criminal offence,” the country’s deputy PM was quoted as saying by the ČTK news agency.
Under the proposed legislation, cruelty toward companion animals will be punishable by at least one year in prison.
