Aleksandar Vučić announces possible resignation

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has said during a visit to China that he may step down soon, according to the N1 TV channel.

“Perhaps I will submit my resignation soon,” he said.

Vučić also announced that a session of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party will take place from June 26 to 28. He noted that after these events, messages addressed to Serbian citizens will be more important than the number of participants.

Vučić’s second presidential term is set to end in the spring of 2027.

In recent months, Serbia’s political situation has been tense, with mass protests taking place across the country. Protesters have been demanding Vučić’s resignation.
