New round of US-Iran talks could begin in coming days, Axios reports

US-Iran negotiations could resume in Switzerland in the coming days, Axios reports.

According to the publication, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is already en route, while another US representative, Jared Kushner, is currently in the country.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi may also arrive in Switzerland on Saturday, although no final decision has been made yet.

The talks had previously been postponed due to Israeli strikes on Lebanon.

According to sources, Tehran has made clear that a ceasefire in Lebanon is a key condition for continuing dialogue with Washington.

Qatar’s Prime Minister, who serves as one of the main mediators between the United States and Iran, has already arrived in Switzerland.
