
Venezuela twin earthquakes death toll rises as nearly 18,000 left homeless
The death toll from the twin earthquakes in Venezuela has risen to 4,490, according to National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez.
He said that 17,907 people have been left homeless as a result of the disaster.
Authorities said a housing assistance program for those affected by the quakes will begin next week.
Venezuela’s interim President Delcy Rodriguez is expected to hand over the first 200 homes to earthquake victims in the coming days.
