Iran denies Trump’s claim that US citizen was released

Iran has denied US President Donald Trump’s statement that an American citizen detained in the country had been released, IRIB News reports.

“No American detainee has been released from Iranian prisons, and no exchange has taken place,” the report said.

Earlier, President Trump said that Iran had released a US citizen who had been held in detention since December 2024.
