Tokayev proposes ‘freezing’ Russia-Ukraine war during meeting with Putin
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed “freezing” the war in Ukraine and returning to the “Istanbul Formula 2.0” during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Omsk.
“All of this must stop. What is happening is benefiting the opponents of both Russia and Ukraine,” Tokayev said, adding that, in his view, the time has come to return to negotiations.
He also stated that he does not intend to assume the role of mediator in Russia-Ukraine peace talks.
