Ararat Mirzoyan presents TRIPP: "Azerbaijan will connect with Nakhijevan, and the railway will connect Yeraskh and Meghri through Azerbaijani territory"
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan presented the issue of ratifying the framework agreement on strategic cooperation for the Armenia-USA "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project in the National Assembly.
He assured that TRIPP does not contain a single issue that would bypass the Republic of Armenia. Mirzoyan stated that there will be an opportunity to connect Yeraskh to Meghri through Azerbaijan via the railway.
"The jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia will apply to everything. The Republic of Armenia will have the opportunity to connect with third countries through the territory and infrastructure of Azerbaijan, becoming an important hub in the east. Of course, in parallel, our neighbor Azerbaijan will get the opportunity to connect with Nakhijevan through the territory of Armenia, and also, if it so wishes, to connect with third countries through Armenian territory. Third countries in the east and west will be able to connect with each other through this project, and accordingly, the Republic of Armenia will not only unblock itself, but also become a hub in East-West communications. As you know, the entire world today is in search of new logistic routes," Ararat Mirzoyan said.
The minister assured that the US undertakes to fully manage the TRIPP Foundation-Company, therefore they have grounds to be confident that everything is being done in the interests of the Republic of Armenia.
