Trump says no one can dictate what the US sells to Turkey

US President Donald Trump has commented on reports that Israel opposes the sale of F-35 fighter jets to Turkey.

Trump stated that Turkey is an important ally of the United States, saying: “Turkey has been a great ally. No one can tell me what we should sell and what we should not sell.”

The US president met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on July 7, after which he announced that Washington would lift sanctions imposed on Ankara over its purchase of Russian S-400 missile systems.
