Netanyahu declined to meet Zelensky in Washington

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declined to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington, Haaretz reports.

According to one of the newspaper’s sources, Zelensky’s office was the first to contact Netanyahu’s office to arrange a meeting, but the Israeli side did not respond to the request.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian source told Haaretz that the initiative for the meeting had initially come from Netanyahu’s office. According to the source, after Zelensky’s office agreed to the meeting, the Israeli side provided no response until July 28, when it officially informed Kyiv that the prime minister would be unable to meet with the Ukrainian president because of time constraints.

US President Donald Trump held separate meetings at the White House with both Netanyahu and Zelensky on Tuesday.
