European Commission spokesperson։ Armenia will be able to obtain visa-free travel regime with the EU “when the time comes”
The European Commission has not confirmed that Armenia will be able to obtain visa-free regime with the EU in 2029, as Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hopes. This was stated by European Commission spokesperson Paula Pinho at a briefing in Brussels.
“It is still too early to predict whether 2029 will be the year of visa liberalization. It is too early to speak with such precision,” she said. According to Pinho, this will only happen “when the time comes.”
Pashinyan announced his intention to obtain visa-free travel regime with the EU at a press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on July 2 in Yerevan. At the time, the President of the European Commission did not correct him.
