Musk has spent more than $445 million to support Republicans

Elon Musk has donated more than $445 million in an effort to help the Republican Party win the upcoming US midterm elections, according to Bloomberg.

The contributions have made Musk the largest political donor of the current election cycle, putting him ahead of other major political contributors, including billionaire George Soros, a leading donor to the Democrats, the agency reported.

According to Bloomberg, the outcome of the upcoming elections could have significant implications for Musk. If Democrats gain control of the House of Representatives, lawmakers could turn their attention to his work overseeing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). In addition, the companies he leads, including SpaceX, Tesla and Neuralink, are heavily dependent on federal regulatory policies.

The US midterm elections will take place on November 3. Voters will elect roughly one-third of the Senate and all members of the House of Representatives, as well as governors in 36 states and territories. Both chambers of Congress are currently controlled by Republicans.
