Le Figaro: The first batch of French weapons will be delivered to Armenia today
Within the framework of strengthening relations between Armenia and France in the field of defense, Minister of the Armed Forces of France Sébastien Lecornu will be in Armenia today and tomorrow.
“France and Armenia maintain historically friendly relations; however, in the field of defense, our relations have not reached a high level of bilateral relations,” the French Ministerial Cabinet said in a statement, noting that this is the first visit of a French minister to Armenia in history.
Le Figaro reports that the first batch of French weapons will be delivered to Armenia today, as the parties agreed in October, 2023.
That will include night-vision devices manufactured by Safran, GM200 radars, which will allow it to detect the enemy aircraft from a distance of 250 kilometers.
The French Army is also planning to organize three military training courses in mountainous regions for Armenians.
