49 journalists killed in Gaza Strip
Since the resumption of hostilities in the Gaza Strip, 49
media representatives, covering the conflict, have been killed, TASS reports.
As noted, this constitutes 4% of the journalists working in
the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate voiced
concern that contact with dozens of reporters had been broken off, and the
Israeli military might retaliate against them. Thus, the syndicate called on
the International Committee of the Red Cross and other organizations to ensure
their security.
U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres, in turn, stated
that the number of journalists, killed in the four-week hostilities in the
Palestinian enclave, has exceeded the number of journalists killed in any other
conflict in the last three decades.
