Syria’s president to make official visit to Paris

Interim President of Syria Ahmed al-Sharaa has received an invitation from his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron to officially visit Paris in the coming weeks, the Syrian leader’s office states.

Macron and al-Sharaa had a phone conversation. Macron congratulated al-Sharaa on assuming the presidency and expressed “full support for Syria’s transitional phase.”

“The presidents discussed issues related to Syria’s security and the necessity of working together to maintain stability,” reads the statement.
