US and Iran preparing to extend ceasefire, Axios writes

Details of a memorandum between the United States and Iran have been released, Axios reports.

According to the draft memorandum, the ceasefire would be extended for 60 days. The United States would lift its blockade on Iranian ports and ease sanctions. The Strait of Hormuz would be reopened to navigation, and Iran would be able to freely trade oil.

At the same time, Iran would begin clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz, while the United States would maintain a military presence around Iran until a final agreement is reached.

The memorandum also envisions continued negotiations between the United States and Iran on Tehran’s nuclear program.
