The foreign ministers of France, Germany and the U.K. issued a joint statement strongly condemning Russia’s acquisition of Iranian ballistic missiles.
“This is about a new escalation of military support that Iran is providing to Russia in its war of aggression against Ukraine, which will lead to the appearance of Iranian missiles on European soil and increase the suffering of the Ukrainian people,” reads the statement. The ministers made it clear that they will take new and significant measures against Iran if these transfers take place.
“Now we have confirmation that Iran has made these deliveries. We will take immediate measures to cancel our bilateral air traffic agreements with Iran,” reads the statement. The ministers added that efforts will be made to impose sanctions on Iran Air.
“We are calling on Iran to immediately stop supporting Russia in the war of aggression against Ukraine, as well as to stop the creation and supply of ballistic missiles,” the ministers concluded.
Earlier it became known that the U.S. imposed sanctions on Iranian Iran Air airline.
