EADaily: A “third force” is slowly but steadily forming in Armenia

After the disaster in Artsakh, the internal political field of Armenia underwent significant transformations, first, in terms of public sentiments. “As of the beginning of October 2024, it can be stated that the lion’s share of the electorate in Armenia, in the truest sense of the word, has been left without an owner,” EADaily writes.

Voters do not trust the old parties and leaders, while the formation of an alternative pole, the so-called “third force”, is taking place slowly but steadily. Judging by the current sociological situation, the “ghosts of Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan” are hanging over the movement led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan. Against this backdrop, there is also the activation of various pro-Western political projects built on American and European corruption grants. While Western agents are being purged en masse in Georgia, they have complete freedom in Armenia. Western paid agents are instilling in Armenian society the prospect of EU membership and security partnership with the U.S. at a time when the European economy is dying and most of Armenia’s trade is conducted with the EAEU and, above all, with Russia. “The calendar and format of future domestic political events in Armenia remains uncertain. Estimates regarding the future parliamentary elections are different. Some experts believe that the Armenian authorities will not hold snap elections, others claim that only snap elections will somehow reorganize the system, thereby weakening the widespread public dissatisfaction with the results of Pashinyan’s one-party government. Which of these scenarios will develop will become clear in the coming months,” reads the article.
