Ministry of Interior: 182 protesters have been detained from the Yerevan-Ashtarak highway, with 3 others arrested
One hundred and eighty-two people were detained, and three others were arrested after blocking the Ashtarak-Yerevan highway of Kasakh village, Nairi community, Kotayk province, Narek Sargsyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told ABC media.
According to media reports, one of those arrested is Armen Hambardzumyan, a member of the Council of Elders who protested against the mayor of Nairi. Hambardzumyan was transferred to Yeghvard police station.
To remind, this morning the residents of Kasakh village of Nairi community of Kotayk province blocked the Ashtarak-Yerevan highway, expressing dissatisfaction with Head of Community Norayr Sargsyan’s decision, which was to be approved at the Council of Elders session scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
