Pope Francis uses his final funds to help juvenile prison factory

Pope Francis allocated the remaining €200,000 of his personal funds to the mortgage of a pasta factory operated within the Rome juvenile detention center.

The chaplain responsible for pastoral care in Rome’s prisons stated, “I told him that the factory has a large mortgage debt, and if we can reduce it, the price of pasta will decrease, sales will increase, and we will be able to hire more young people.”

He replied, “Almost all my money is spent, but there is still a little left in my account. He then transferred €200,000, Monsignor Benoni Ambrosus, the chaplain responsible for care in Rome’s prisons, said.
