EAEU to engage in free trade with Iran

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and its member states have completed the procedures necessary for the free trade agreement with Iran to come into effect, the Eurasian Economic Commission’s (EEC) press service said.

“The procedures for the implementation of the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Islamic Republic of Iran have been completed in the EAEU. We expect that they will also be finalized in Iran in the near future,” the EEC press service said, citing EEC Minister of Trade Andrey Slepnev.

He also noted that the agreement is set to take effect in the coming months.

Earlier, EEC Collegium Chairman Bakhytjan Sagintayev and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed the completion of the procedures for the free trade agreement with the EAEU.
