Colombia’s president says thousands of Columbians are fighting in Ukraine

Colombian President Gustavo Petro has stated that approximately 7,000 Colombian nationals are fighting and “dying pointlessly” in Ukraine.

“We do not want to be exporters of death,” he wrote on social media.

Petro also noted that mercenary activity is prohibited under Colombian law.
