Nokia 1100 becomes best-selling mobile phone in history

The Nokia 1100 has become the best-selling mobile phone device in history, according to BGR.

Released in 2003, the device sold 250 million units, surpassing the sales of smartphones from both Apple and Samsung.

According to the publication, the Nokia 1110, introduced in 2005, ranks second among the most widely used mobile devices, with 248 million units sold. In third place are the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, with a combined 224 million units sold.

The publication states that when Nokia devices were launched, the mobile electronics market was significantly different from today. The Finnish company had a limited number of competitors, including BlackBerry, Sony, Motorola, and several other manufacturers.
