Xi tells Trump US-China relations are the world’s ‘most important’
China’s President Xi Jinping calls US-China relations the world’s “most important” as he hosts a state banquet in Beijing, the BBC writes.
Xi said that achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and making America great again could go hand in hand.
“We can help each other succeed,” Xi said, adding that China and the United States should be partners rather than rivals.
At the dinner, US President Donald Trump praised earlier talks between the two nations as “extremely positive.”
Trump also invited his Chinese counterpart to the White House on Sept. 24.
The White House earlier said trade, oil and Iran were among the topics discussed during a high-stakes meeting that lasted nearly two hours.
