Milka chocolate bar maker found guilty of misleading consumers

A German court ruled on Wednesday that US-based food giant Mondelez misled buyers by shrinking its ​Milka chocolate bars from 100 grams to 90 ‌grams without significantly altering the packaging, the BBC writes.

The three-week court case was brought by Hamburg’s consumer protection office (VZHH).

Reacting to the ruling Mondelēz told the BBC it was “taking the decision of the court seriously” and would “look at it in detail now.”

The company argued that it had informed German consumers about the change on its website and social media channels.
