Aliyev says Middle Corridor’s importance growing in current geopolitical context

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that the importance of the Middle Corridor is increasing in the current global geopolitical context.

“Our cooperation with Turkic states in the field of transport is expanding. In today’s global geopolitical context, the importance of the Middle Corridor is growing even further,” Aliyev said at an informal summit of the leaders of member states of the Organization of Turkic States.

He noted that the “Zangezur Corridor,” currently under development, will become one of the key segments of the Middle Corridor.

“Customs procedures along the Middle Corridor are being simplified. The e-Permit system developed within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States ensures the rapid issuance of electronic permits,” he added.

Aliyev also stated that the Turkic world, which he described as “our family,” should become one of the centers of an influential geopolitical power in the 21st century.
