Hajiyev says South Caucasus should no longer be region of war and conflict
Speaking at a special session titled “Cities at the Center of Connectivity: Urban Reconstruction and Regional Cooperation,” held within the framework of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said that Azerbaijan, located at the crossroads of Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East, plays a vital role as a strategic hub for regional energy and trade connectivity.
He said this role is further strengthened by the development of a new transport corridor, a key element of which will be the so-called “Zangezur Corridor.”
“As of 2024, the war and conflict have already ended. The South Caucasus should no longer be a space for war and confrontation,” Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and head of the Presidential Administration’s Foreign Policy Affairs Department, said.
Hajiyev also stated that the Karabakh conflict is now in the past.
