Kaja Kallas says US evacuated diplomats from Kyiv after Russian threats, while US embassy denies claim

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has said that American diplomats left Kyiv following Russian threats to carry out strikes, according to meduza.io.

Speaking to journalists, Kallas said that according to information received from the Ukrainian side, “all embassies except one remain in Ukraine, and America has left.”

The EU foreign policy chief stressed that Russia’s threats to strike Kyiv are an attempt at intimidation, which she said would not work.

However, the US Embassy in Kyiv stated that it is operating as normal. In a post on X, the embassy said that any information to the contrary is incorrect.
