Russia has warned Armenia for years that EU is no longer the economic integration bloc it once was, Overchuk says
Moscow has repeatedly told Yerevan that the European Union has transformed from an economic union into a military-political alliance, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said in an interview with Vesti.
“We have constantly told Armenia about this, and we have been speaking about it for years. Of course, all of this was done behind closed doors. We did not want to make it public. We said that the European Union today is no longer the economic integration bloc it used to be. Today, it is an organization that has effectively turned into a military-political union, which openly declares its hostility toward our country,” Overchuk said.
He added that Moscow has invited and continues to invite its “Armenian partners, friends, and allies” to pay attention to this issue and “think about what they are doing.”
