CIS mission reports on election process in Armenia
The coordinator of CIS observation mission for Armenia’s parliamentary elections, Zhakip Asanov, has spoken about the calm atmosphere at polling stations in Yerevan during voting, RIA Novosti writes.
Parliamentary elections are being held in Armenia on June 7, with 18 political parties and alliances running.
“We spoke with observers and members of election commissions to find out whether they had any questions regarding organizational matters. Overall, I would like to note that the working atmosphere here is very calm: people are already coming and voting,” Asanov said at one of the polling stations in Yerevan.
According to him, the elections have been organized properly, and no specific issues related to the voting process have been reported so far.
Asanov said that representatives of the CIS mission plan to visit polling stations not only in Yerevan but also in the regions.
The mission will observe the vote-counting process this evening and will publish its conclusions based on its findings.
